Democráticos – Lapa – Nighclub - Dancing

If you don't feel like going to mainstream expensive parties, then Democráticos is the best option for you, especially on a Wednesday. It starts out late, so you have plenty of time do your tour stuff and still have dinner on good places before heading there.

This is one of the most traditional places for a very popular type of dance in Brazil, called Forró. The closest dance style I can think of to give you an idea is the lambada. But it's different, in particularly the music, very unique. You can expect to see up close a genuine Brazilian type of party, with lots of dancing, together with one another. At first, it's gonna look a bit scary to see how we dance so closely together, but later you'll get used to it and realize that it's not made up of just sexual intentions, but also fun. The women are going to love this option. And it's quite common for you (women) to get picket by Brazilians to dance lots of times, during the night. And the guys should get their games right. Watch a little and ask for a Brazilian chick to show you some steps. They can be quite patient with foreigners. And the rest is up to you.

This place is in Lapa, a cool bohemian neighborhood in Rio, close to Centro. So, if you have time, get a few drinks there first.
